Classroom LearningAHA’s video-based, classroom Family & Friends® CPR Course teaches adult Hands-Only™ CPR, adult AED use, child CPR and AED use, and infant CPR. It also teaches how to relieve choking in an adult, child or infant.The course offers training for those who want to learn CPR and do not require a course completion card.
HeartSaver® First Aid CPR AED

Heart Saver AED teaches CPR, relief of choking and AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) use for adults and children. This course is made for individuals who must respond to medical emergencies as part of their job and those in the community who wish to have a CPR course completion card. Infant CPR and choking can be included in this class.  HeartSaver® First Aid CPR AED  Teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. There are separate classes for adult and pediatric (child) first aid.    Adult, child and/or infant CPR can be taught in this class for a total fee of $90.00 * Price Increase*

What does this class cover?

CPR, BLS, CPR, AED Providers Classes

This course includes one and two-person CPR, techniques for relief of choking, use of airway barrier devices, bag-mask ventilation and an AED. Who should take this class? This course is designed for healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, nurses, physicians, dentists, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and others who must have a credential documenting successful completion of a CPR course. How long is the class? The BLS Provider Course is a 4-hour class.    

                                                 Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens Training is now available Cost $25.00   Course Overview   The Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens Course instructs employees on ways protect themselves and others when exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet OSHA requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. It is also designed specifically for workers with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens, including correctional officers, childcare workers, security guards, maintenance workers, school personnel, hotel housekeepers, health and fitness club staff, and tattoo artists. The course uses the PACT™ acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) and slogan, “Make a PACT, Know How to Act,” to help students learn and easily recall bloodborne pathogens training.   After successfully completing this course, students will be able to:

  • explain the importance of taking the Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens course
  • define bloodborne pathogens
  • describe the four main steps for staying safe when facing an occupational exposure
  • discuss how universal precautions, personal protective equipment, and handwashing can protect them from infection
  • recognize warning signs and labels for biohazards
  • recall how to safely remove gloves
  • discuss how to dispose of sharps and other blood-containing items
  • identify the types of spills and methods to clean them
  • discuss their exposure control plan.

No skills test or skills demonstration are required at the end of this course. However, AHA provides an optional written exam for use if the employer requires an exam for completion. *************************************************************************************************************   What is the cost of the class? The fee for the BLS Provider Course is $70.00.  All course materials and activities follow American Heart Association guidelines and all classes are taught by American Heart Association Credentialed Instructors.
